Employer One is an annual online survey focused on the demand side of the local labour market. Employers throughout Niagara complete the survey in order to compile data on workforce issues ranging from labour availability, to job availability and classification, to skills demand, and more.
The results of the annual Employer One survey create a snapshot of the labour market from the perspective of employers. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses of all sizes. Recruitment activities are enhanced by the survey’s ability to help identify labour shortages and skills gaps, and to enable job seekers, employment service providers, and educational institutions to target their skills training to industries in need. The more respondents Employer One receives, the more accurate and complete the survey data for the region becomes.
NWPB runs a second annual survey as a partner to the Employer One Survey. The Labour Market Insight survey is aimed at the local labour force, allowing employees, jobseekers, and self-employed individuals to report on their workforce experiences and position themselves to employers, while providing employers with additional insights to attracting and retaining staff.
In other words, while Employer One checks in on the needs and experiences of Niagara's employers, the Labour Market Insight survey checks in on the needs and experiences of Niagara's working and work-ready public.
